Get into gear with rallying at Donington this weekend

Monday, February 26 2018

A capacity 80-car entry is set to compete across eight challenging special stages in Sunday's Imperial Commercials Volkswagen Donington Rally (4 March).

Rallying at Leicestershire's Donington Park circuit often makes for a spectacular start to the season, with a huge variety of cars set to take on the challenges that stage rallying poses. Uniquely for this event, the competitors will not only use various elements of the circuit in various directions and with several obstacles, but will also take on sections of the venue not usually used for motorsport competition.

The Tarmac Lake will feature in all eight stages, while for the first time in many years the famous Heritage Loop section will be used for several stages.

Vehicles confirmed on the entry list include WRC Fiestas and Subaru Imprezas, as well as classic rally machinery such as Ford Escorts, Mitsubishi Evos and special models including Darrians and even a Porsche Cayman! Spectators will be able to catch the action on the circuit elements from the usual public areas, which will also provide viewing points for the Tarmac Lake sections.

The event forms part of the popular Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship, as well as Dukeries MC and Jelf Motorsport.com Stage Rally Championships, meaning there's plenty at stake for each competitor!

Tickets are available in advance until midday on Thursday 1 March, with print-at-home tickets available. Prices start at £13 with special rates for teenagers and free entry for children aged under 13. For more information and to book click here.
