Minshaw and Keen on pole for British GT Donington decider

Saturday, September 22 2018

Phil Keen and Jon Minshaw's Lamborghini Huracan GT3 will start tomorrow's British GT Championship finale from pole position after both drivers topped their respective sessions in this afternoon's (Saturday) split qualifying period.

Minshaw was fastest in the opening qualifying segment for gentlemen drivers by just over a second from the Aston Martin V12 Vantage of Graham Davidson, before Keen's effort secured pole position with a cumulative time of 3m21.472s.

Sam De Haan and Johnny Cocker will ensured a front row lockout for Barwell Motorsport's Lamborghinis, with Davidson and team-mate Maxime Martin set to start from third.

Championship leaders Flick Haigh and Jonny Adam qualified fourth in their Optimum Motorsport Aston Martin V12 Vantage. A top-six finish in tomorrow's race would be enough for the duo to secure the crown.

In the GT4 class, Ben Tuck and Ben Green qualified on class pole to give themselves the best possible chance of overcoming Jack Mitchell's 10-point advantage - he will start tomorrow's race in seventh place in class.
