Mean machines at Tunerfest Midlands on bank holiday Monday

Monday, August 19 2019

Tunerfest Midlands, a spectacular new event for 2019, blasts onto the modified car scene at Donington Park this bank holiday Monday (26 August).

Visitors can expect to see a whole host of mega machinery both on and off the track with the UK Time Attack Championship headlining the day's action.

Time Attack, a motor discipline originating from the circuits of Japan, brings a host of extensively tuned and tweaked production vehicles to Donington Park with drivers battling to set the quickest lap. Competing machinery is largely unlike vehicles found within traditional circuit racing with competitors and vehicle builders exploring adventurous aerodynamic body kits and incredible engine modifications.

Vehicles are split across different classes with everything from near standard hatchbacks to four-wheel drive saloons in excess of 1000hp. Plus, this year brings the new and exciting GT3 and Sports Car Class enabling ex-competition vehicles such as the FastR Bentley GT3 to race alongside the Pro divisions.

The modified theme continues throughout the venue too with huge modified car displays bringing some of the biggest and best car clubs from across the country. Prestigious show and shine awards will be up for grabs with plenty of dazzling vehicles on display.

Donington will echo with the sounds of historic rallying too with a range of stunning Group B machines performing a host of flame spitting demos on the Melbourne Loop. The iconic section of the venue will be converted into a bespoke tarmac rally stage before the cars venture onto the main circuit for a series of parade laps.

The Tarmac Lake section of the venue will also be transformed with a host of exciting drift car action. Drifting requires careful inputs of throttle, brakes, steering, clutch and gear changes as drivers balance their car in a perfect state of oversteer producing a sensational sideways smoke show. Even better than that? Visitors can jump in the passenger seat of a drift car for a truly unforgettable experience, bookable on the day!

On top of all of this there will also be trade stands offering a variety of aftermarket products, and much more.

Tickets for Tunerfest Midlands at Donington Park (Monday 26 August) are available online for £16 until midday on Thursday 22 August or on the gate for £20 with free entry for under-13s. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
