Bennetts British Superbikes back at Donington Park this weekend!

Monday, March 26 2018

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship roars into Donington Park this Easter weekend (31 March - 2 April) with the promise of reignited rivalries and fierce competition after the thrilling climax of last season.

Round 1 of this year's Bennetts BSB championship is the first big event of the year at the East Midlands circuit with a packed weekend of racing on offer, including two BSB races on Sunday and support from Pirelli National Superstock 600 and 1000, Dickies British Supersport and lots more throughout!

And for visitors it's a first chance to experience the multi-million pound circuit upgrade that has taken place during the winter, with a new restaurant, bar and café, new toilets, a new entrance and a new stand at Hollywood corner with unrivalled views of the track.

There's plenty of local interest on track too with riders Leon Haslam, Richard Cooper, James Ellison and Kyle Ryde all lining up on the grid.

Haslam, who lost out to Ducati's six-time champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne in the final race of last season, says he can't wait to get back to Donington after winning there twice in 2018.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider looked set to take his first BSB title last year before he crashed out in the final race at Brands Hatch, handing the crown to reigning champion Byrne.

"I am always excited for Donington Park, especially as we go into it with the same team for the second consecutive season and off the back of a really good winter test programme. I am feeling good too and if anything the end of last season has just fired me up more to come out fighting harder this year.

"Last year we did the double but before that, Donington had always been a tough track for me and hadn't been that kind with results. We know the Ducati goes well there though and I am looking forward to getting stuck in this weekend and where better to kick things off than at my home round," he said.

Discount adult tickets are £37 for the weekend (31 March - 2 April) or £28 for the main raceday Monday (2 April), available online until midday on Wednesday.
