Convoy in the Park will not take place in 2020

Thursday, August 06 2020

Donington Park's annual Convoy in the Park truck festival will not take place in its original format for 2020. The event on 22/23 August will instead continue as a round of the British Truck Racing Championship, without the attached Convoy in the Park off-track show.

Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, it has ultimately proved too challenging to deliver all the elements of Convoy in the Park under present government guidelines and restrictions. As such organisers DVV and Trucksport UK have, in collaboration with venue owner MSV, taken the difficult decision to postpone that aspect of the event until next summer, with all parties committed to delivering the best-ever Convoy in the Park in 2021.

All ticket-holders for this year's event will be contacted very soon with details on how to manage their booking, with different options available. These will include retaining their ticket(s) for the event in its new format, or alternatively carrying them over to 2021.

MSV Motorsport Events Manager David Willey said: "It's very disappointing for all of us that Convoy in the Park will not take place in 2020 after all. It's a real showpiece event for us at Donington Park, however it has become clear in recent days that it will not be possible for us to deliver the show to its usual standards in the current climate. We remain committed to delivering a superb event once again in 2021, and for those who the truck racing is the main draw, we're pleased to confirm that the on-track action will go ahead as planned, with plenty of truck racing and a busy programme of support races too."
